Development and Validation of a Vision Pro Projection System for Apparel Cutting

The Opportunity

The Fashion Innovation Centre (FIC) is developing a spatial pattern projection system using the Apple Vision Pro to create a new manufacturing workflow for apparel production. The project will test whether digital garment patterns can be accurately anchored to fabric using mixed reality, reducing dependence on printed paper patterns and creating a new approach to pattern placement, cutting, and production preparation.

While apparel is the initial application, the project is fundamentally a spatial computing and manufacturing workflow initiative with potential applications across fabrication, assembly, installation, inspection, and skilled trades.
